The challenge

Window cleaners, gardeners, tutors and physios tend to run the business side from a patchwork: a calendar on one phone, customer details in a spreadsheet, messages scattered across texts, WhatsApp and email. Most booking and CRM software is built for bigger teams, and asks for an afternoon of setup that a sole trader never gets round to.

Packed Day needed to replace that patchwork with one tool small enough to pick up on day one, flexible enough for a round of recurring visits as well as a diary of booked appointments.

What we built

  • One record per customer, holding contact details, service history and a full timeline of every booking, message and task.
  • A schedule that keeps itself, handling one-off bookings and recurring patterns such as “every four weeks” or “the first Monday of the month”.
  • A branded booking page each business can share as a link, offering only the times that fit its working hours and existing bookings.
  • Two-way messaging: send a customer a message and their reply lands back in the same inbox, by email or on a link, with no account or app for them to install.
  • Tasks that sit against the customer they belong to until someone ticks them off.
  • Wording that fits the trade, so a business can call its work visits, appointments, sessions, jobs or calls.
  • A phone app with today’s schedule, customer details, the inbox and who still owes money, for the time spent away from a desk.
  • A marketing site and pricing with three plain monthly plans, from solo traders up to established teams.

The result

A single place for the admin that usually eats into a small business’s evenings. New accounts are set up with their customers already loaded, so there’s nothing to configure before the first booking comes in. We use it ourselves: the “Book a call” link on this site is our own Packed Day booking page.
